Kela is an online marketplace serving Kampala and the rest of Uganda. Buyers browse and order from local traders on their phone, and Kela Crew delivers the order to their door. Sellers get customers beyond the people who happen to walk past their stall, and buyers skip the trip to town, the haggling and the boda fare.

The problem Kela solves is simple: good traders are hard to find online, and buyers waste time and money getting to them. Kela puts both sides in one place and handles the delivery in between. You can see the marketplace itself at shopkela.com.

Ugandans trust people, not adverts. A recommendation from a trusted person in a WhatsApp group, a church community, a university hostel or a TikTok following carries far more weight than any billboard on Jinja Road.

So instead of spending on adverts, we pay the people doing the recommending. Our mission is to grow Kela's reach across Uganda by empowering community leaders, content creators and everyday people to earn real money by sharing something genuinely useful with their audiences.

It is free to join, there are no sales targets, and you keep your commission when the person you referred actually receives their first delivery. Nothing is asked of you that you would not do for a friend anyway.

We keep the rules written down in plain language, we say what a referral must meet before it pays, and we show you the tier and rate that applied to every single commission in your history so nothing changes behind your back.

Where we have to protect the program — self-referrals, duplicate accounts, unusual patterns — we tell you about it in the policies rather than hiding it in fine print.

Kela is built and operated by Trident Technologies Corp, a Ugandan technology company based in Kampala. The team builds products for the market it lives in — the same roads, the same network, the same mobile money that everyone here uses every day.
